Deliverance After Care

Now that you have had a deliverance, what’s next?

Deliverance is not the final step to freedom. Here is how to maintain your freedom and continue the process of healing.

Mind Renewal

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

How do we begin to transform our mind so that it becomes a natural habit to think with the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5 & 1 Corinthians 2:16). This process of renewing our mind creates new pathways of thinking that become our default. A default of peace, love, and joy in place of fear, anger, and pain.

Cleansing Your Home & Heart

We loose what we allow. If you are listening to vulgur music, watching demonic videos, or keeping images of demons on your walls, you are welcoming those attributes into your home and heart.

Reading the Word of God and meditating on it is key to living a life holy unto the Lord. Listening to worship music shifts our focus and the atmosphere of the home, loosing Heaven on earth.

Making these swaps will create a space of peace and help you on your path to a renewed and transformed mind.

Surroundings

Our surroundings can have a profound impact on our mood and thoughts. We spoke about replacing what we take in through media, but we must also pay attention to the influences of items in our home, as well as the impact of social groups.

Idols and items of pagan symbolism need to be removed, as well as getting rid of any gifts or items that are associated with past relationships that involved witchcraft. Go through your home and ask Holy Spirit to reveal if there is any item that grieves Him in your house or social circles. Be willing to let go of those items and step away from unhealthy relationships, but seek wise counsel before stepping away from a relationship.

Bless your home and anoint it with oil asking God to make it a dwelling place of His presence and Heavenly worship.

Daily Declarations

Read this declaration over yourself as often as you need to. We recommend doing it everyday for a week straight when you first begin. Allow the truth of the declarations to seep into your heart. I am a child of the King. I am a co-heir with Jesus. I have given Him my entire being. Everything Jesus bought and paid for is my inheritance. I am united with Jesus.

I have been crucified with Christ. I died with Him. I was buried with Him. I was raised with Him. I am seated with Him in the heavenlies, far above all rule, all power, all authority, and above every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come.

Therefore, I carry the authority of Christ. I have authority over sickness, over sin, over the flesh, over demons, and over the world. I am the salt of the earth. I am the light of the world.

I will displace the darkness. I have the full armor of God. I put on the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the helmet of salvation, the shoes of peace. I take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit. For the weapons of my warfare are not fleshly. They are divinely powerful to tear down the strongholds of darkness.

I can do all things through Christ, because greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.

Continued Forgiveness

Oftentimes, forgiveness comes in layers. As more layers of healing are revealed, you may find yourself needing to forgive a person repeatedly, or a new offense may occur. This prayer, by God’s grace given to you, will help you with what to say to release the power of forgiveness into the wound.

Heavenly Father, by your grace, I am choosing to forgive (name) for (what they did) even though it made me feel (emotion). Lord, I choose not to hold any of these things against (name) any longer, and I instead decide to bless (name) with (what you desire them to receive from the Father). Thank you for setting me free from the bondage of bitterness.
